DAY OF TARWIYAH
It is the 8th day of the month of Dhul-Hijjah. On this day, the pilgrims proceed to Mina to spend the night. This is being the first day of Hajj.
On the 8th of Zul-Hijjah, a Pilgrim performing Hajj At-Tamatt'u should assume Ihraam again from where he is staying, saying: "Labbayka Allaahumma Hajjan".
It is better to leave for Mina in the morning. In Mina, the pilgrims pray Thuhr, 'Asr, Maghrib and 'Ishaa' of the 8th and Fajr of the 9th ('Arafah day). Zuhr, 'Asr and 'Ishaa' are shortened to two Rak'ahs, but are not combined, Sahih al-Bukhari 1083. One should increase remembrance of Allaah and supplication, and repeat Talbiyyah.
Narrated Abdullah Ibn Abbas(R):The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) offered the noon prayer on the 8th of Dhul-Hijjah (Yawm at-Tarwiyah) and dawn prayer on the 9th of Dhul-Hijjah (Yawm al-Arafah) in Mina. Sunan Abi Dawud 1911
It was narrated from Ibn ‘Abbas that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) prayed in Mina, on the Day of Tarwiyah (the 8th of Dhul-Hijjah), Zuhr, ‘Asr, Maghrib, ‘Isha’ and Fajr, then he went in the morning to ‘Arafat. Sunan Ibn Majah Hadith 3004
